Book in a Series - Across the Universe Series

Don't you hate it when you are reading a book and it's part of a book series and you have to wait FOREVER for the next book to come out.  Then you get the next book and you can't remember where it left off?  Well I'm going to summarize a book in a series that I've read so that when I get the next book I can look at my summary and know what happened.  Warning, the following contains spoilers!

I really enjoyed this book and I'm very excited for the new one to come out.
Amy is being frozen along with her parents to travel in a ship, Godspeed and be woken in 300 years in a new planet.  Her mother is a scientists and her father has military background and they were able to have her go with.  We are able to see the process of being frozen, which is not pleasant.  Then Amy is aware, her mind is not asleep.  So she has to occupy her time.  She is suddenly woken up but not properly and she nearly drowns.  She awakens in the ship and everyone there is the same and are engineered to not have differences. Amy has red hair and fair skin so she really stands out.  We find out that she is not the first person to be woken up early and improperly and that she's the only one that has survived.  She also meets Elder, who is to be the next leader.  Right now the leader is Eldest.  We find out there is breeding time so that population is controlled.  Also there was an outbreak and that's where the Elders came from and why the need for genetic manipulations   In the end we find out that all Elders are clones and that Elder woke Amy up because she intrigued him and she was his age (there are no others his age).  They stop the use of drugs on everyone so they can think for themselves.
