Como Zoo

We took the kids to Como Zoo on Sunday.  They were having a Polar Bear day since the new Polar Bear Exhibit is opening on June 3rd.  The kids got to make a polar bear mask, color some pages, got some stickers and then we got a free tree.  An ironwood tree to be exact.  The kids had a lot of fun there.  We'll have to go back again once the exhibit is open.

Every time we go we never see the wolves.  We were lucky enough to see them this time.  O kept howling at them to try to get them to come closer to us:

French Regional Park

We took the kids to French Regional Park on Friday and they had a great time.  We spent a long time at the park and then walked down to the lake.  Here are some pictures from their fun time.

Sidewalk chalk fun

This was the weekend of Easter and the kids wanted to go out and do some sidewalk chalk.  Starting to feel like summer when you can go out and do this.

Summer? Soon

I cannot wait until summer is here. I know I shouldn't complain about the winters, I do live in MN after all. But I am just itching to go sit outside and enjoy the weather or look at my beautiful garden, grilling and eating outside. Although this past weekend was nice. I got one of my gardens cleaned out and we grilled on Sunday. Yummy chicken and potatoes. The kids were outside a lot, I think they were outside more than inside this past weekend. Then this morning, it's raining and cloudy but I hear it's supposed to be mid 70s. Good news! Although if it's wet the kids can't play outside and bummer I can't eat lunch outside today. So I look forward to the days that it's sunny and warm and I can eat lunch outside and dinner outside and spend my nights in the backyard watching the kids play.

She's 3!

My little girl turned 3 last month. It is so hard to believe that she is that old already. She is so grown up! She was potty trained at the beginning of this year, she talks non-stop and can keep up with her big brother. Here are some pictures from her birthday.

Here she is with her gifts from mom, dad & big brother:

My aunt got her some international dolls and these scarfs which she used to dress up:

Her theme was Strawberry Shortcake. So I made her a strawberry cake (and cupcakes) with cream cheese frosting and I got this candle for it:
