Heroes - The Eclipse Part 1

Overall a much better episode than last week. Although we are left with many more questions and many were not answered.
Hiro is still stuck as his 10 year old self. They are reading 9th wonders comics and they end up at Matt's house for help. Daphne is scared that Arthur will take away her abilities and she ends up leaving to go back home to Kansas. Hiro, Ando and Matt follow them there and Daphne won't let them in her house. Hiro & Ando go to a comic book store to get more comics to help Hiro get his memory back. Matt goes inside the house and Daphne has leg braces and can hardly walk.
Oh yeah, the world's longest eclipse is ocurring and it is affecting their powers.
Arthur is drawing the future, it shows Nathan & Peter falling, Claire hurt and Noah carrying her, Sylar kissing Elle and Hiro, Ando & Matt in a corn field. He tells Sylar to go find Claire and bring her back and Elle volunteers to go with him. She keeps trying to cause trouble. Meanwhile Noah hides Claire in one of the L5's house (the vortex guy), since she's his daughter and the catalyst. Of course Sylar finds her there but when Elle and Sylar try to use their powers they find that they're gone. So Noah dislocates Sylar's arm and Elle is about to shoot Noah when Claire steps in and gets shot herself. Noah hits Elle and knocks her down. Claire also lost her power and can't heal. He brings her home and refuses to take her to the hospital. He leaves even though he said he wouldn't and Claire gets worse and looks like Sandra takes her to the hospital. Sylar and Elle recover and kiss and Noah has a sniper aimed at them.
Peter and Nathan decide to go to Haiti to get The Haitan. Nathan looses his power and they fall in so water but they're okay. They argue, Nathan is a puppet and Peter always needs saving. They run into The Haitan and find out the L5 person he's after is his brother. Of course Nathan gets captured and he's told that Arthur knew he was coming. This is because Tracy told him that was Nathan's plan. Angela seems like she doesn't fully trust Tracy.
All they showed for next week was how Claire is in the hospital fighting for her life. So stay tuned for The Eclipse Part II.

Twilight

I saw it Friday night. The theater was pretty full and I got there about 30 minutes early. I saw a Harry Potter preview and can't wait until that comes out in July. Also they announced on Saturday that they will be making New Moon (the sequel to Twilight).
I liked the movie, and do plan to buy it when it comes out on DVD. I went in knowing that changes would be made, which they were. I liked Edward, except for the chest hair and he maybe should have worked out a little more. I really liked Jasper and could feel the pain he was in being in the presence of all the humans. I also liked Edward and how you could really tell that he was overwhelmed by Bella's scent when he first meets her and also how he was troubled that he couldn't read her mind. I thought overall they did a good job at each character and I'm looking forward to the other movies that will be coming out.

Heroes - 11/17

Sorry for the lateness of this post. I meant to write about it immediately on Tuesday. Well Monday night after having a horrible non-stop pain on my upper left tooth (I suspected wisdom tooth) I went to the Dentist. Sure enough it was my wisdom tooth. They again lectured me about how I need to get them all pulled and then she informs me they can pull the one that's giving me trouble that night. So I got my wisdom tooth pulled and I have to schedule a visit to a specialty dental clinic to get the rest pulled. I have to be put under for the rest. I'm so looking forward to it (insert sarcasm). Anyhow because of that I wasn't really feeling up to posting so anyhow back to Heroes.
Peter is without powers and so Claire feels like she has to protect him. Knox and Flint come after them and Peter runs while Claire stays to deal with them. She's not scared so Knox doesn't get strong and Flint can't really hurt her. She jumps out the window and her and Peter escape. Then they meet them again underground and they inform Claire that they're not after Peter but her. Peter comes and saves her.
Angela is still stuck in her head. Matt & Daphne go to Primatech to see if they can help. They find Angela laying in bed and no one around. So he goes into her head. She's being held captive by Arthur. Somehow Daphne gets in too and she confesses her love for him and they get Angela out too.
Mohinder is still trying to perfect "the formula" and figures out that it needs a catalyst to work and that catalyst is a person. Then Arthur says something about "him" hiding that person from him and they show him looking at Kaito's file and then Claire's file.
Claire figures out that she's the catalyst and Team Angela is formed. That team consists of Angela, Matt, Daphne, Peter & Claire. Also Team Arthur is formed, consisting of Arthur, Sylar, Elle, Knox, Flint & Tracy.
Oh Nathan goes to visit his dad and Arthur tries to get him on his side but Nathan wont. Tracy then goes to Arthur and tells him she will work on Nathan to get him on Arthur's side.
Hiro gets turned into his 10 year old self thanks to Arthur. Ando has to teach him about his power and they spend a lot of time being goofy.
Elle is locked up and Sylar goes to her. She zaps him a bunch of times and takes her anger out on him. Then asks him to kill her but he won't. Instead he tells her he forgives her for turning him into a monster and that she needs to forgive herself. She then does and her pain stops and he gets her power. So now they both have the same power and she tries to show him how to use it.
Oh and an eclipse is coming, which will leave all our heroes powerless.
I thought it was an okay episode. The Hiro story was too much of season 1 when Hiro was goofy and trying to figure out his power. Hopefully next week is better.

Heroes - 11/10

Not the best episode this season but it did answer some questions. I mean they did show a lot of stuff that we had already seen Season 1.
So Meredith's brother is Flint, who is a Level 5 escapee now and working for Pinehearst. He's not a very smart person as Meredith clearly explains. She hates the company because it's their fault that she set the fire and though Claire was dead. Also she was once an agent working for The Company but then was let go. Notice how Claire saved the fireman from the fire that Meredith set while she was still there.
Arthur Petrelli was trying to kill Nathan to go through with "the plan" with Linderman. So the truck that ran down Nathan & Heidi was not sent by Linderman. The rest we already know. Angela finds out that Arthur is trying to kill her "baby" aka Nathan and decides she will kill him instead. So she gets the Haitan to come and poisons Arthurs soup. He then has a heart attack and as they're trying to ship him off to The Company or dispose of his body (it wasn't too clear) Nathan walks in and spoils their plans. Well it turns out Arthur doesn't die, he's just paralized but can communicate through mind and has the Dr tell them that Arthur died and Angela wants him cremated. The rest we know.
Also Grabiel/Sylar is trying to kill himself because he is full of guilt from that murder he commited. In come Elle and saves him and cozies up to him. Her and Noah are working to try to get Sylar to kill so they can study how he takes their powers. Elle doesn't want to because she likes him and doesn't want to turn him into a monster. In the end she gets him to kill and he lets her go.
We see glimses of Mohinder, driving a cab, Peter gets out and Noah gets in. Peter has his hair that just annoys me. Then at the end Hiro wakes up and Usutu gets his head chopped off by Arthur and he takes Hiro's head and to be continued...
Hopefully next week is better than this week.

Look what I made

I'm not very good at sewing, but I am trying. I've made pants for the kids and Olivia a couple of pillowcase dresses. I decided to make them some pjs. I bought Xavier some race car flannel fabric, they have remnants on clearence at Wal-mart. Olivia's material is flannel with little hearts that I got from Dan's grandma. So here are some pictures of their pjs.

The 44th President

Well it's finally over, no more political ads on TV. Our new president is Barack Obama, the first African-American president. Here is a quote from his speech last night:

“If there is anyone out there who doubts that America is a place where anything is possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer,” Obama declared. “Young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled, Americans have sent a message to the world that we have never been just a collection of red states and blue states,” he said. “We have been and always will be the United States of America. “It’s been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this day, in this election, at this defining moment, change has come to America,” he said to a long roar

Halloween

The kids had a great time trick or treating. Xavier wanted to keep going all night, but his little pumpkin basket was full. Here are some pictures of them.

Xavier and Olivia on our front step. The biggest pumpkin is Dan's, the one below it is mine (a cat) and the bottom one is Xavier's.

Xavier and Olivia getting ready to go trick or treating.

Xavier dressed up as a jedi knight.

Olivia dressed up as a Fairy Ballerina. Want some candy?
