Bummer

Supernatural is supposed to be on tonight, but I just read that it has been postponed and will not be on until next week.  I was so looking forward to it this weekend, now I have to wait a whole week.

Oh, there you are

I've read five books so far this month, if I continue to read five books a month then for 2011 I will read a total of 60, which is below my goal for the  year of 70.  In order to achieve my goal I have to read about six books a month.  I am currently reading a short book that I could easily finish by the end of the month.  Still waiting on many books at the library and I keep reading some reading blogs that increase my book list even more.

As for TV shows, I'm excited that The Vampire Diaries is coming back tonight.  Although I won't be able to watch it until this weekend.  Supernatural is on tomorrow night, but I won't watch it until the weekend too.  I watch Fringe now since it's on Fridays.  Plus Dan watches Fringe with me but not Supernatural.

Currently working on a Dragon for X, the pattern that I found on Ravelry.  He is a very demanding and impatient kid though.  Geez, what a slave driver.  He's constantly "When are you going to finish it"  "Why aren't  you working on it"  I only have so many hours in the day when I can work on it.  After I finish his I have to make one for O.  She wants a pink one so that means a trip to the store for find some pink yarn for hers.

Valentine's Day is coming up.  I have to check to see if I have some Valentine Cards otherwise I'll have to get some.  X has his eyes on some Bakugan ones we saw at Target the other day.  Last year he had Transformers Valentine Cards.  I did find a recipe I will be making for a Valentine Treat.  It is White Chocolate Chip Craisin Cookies  which I know isn't totally Valentine but I wanted to try them.  Plus they do have red and white in them, sort of Valentine.  I'll post what I think of them.

Not much

Not much going on except that it is freezing.  Times like these really make me question why I live here.  This morning my thermometer said -21F,  that's right, that's a negative sign in front of it!  X said that it's too cold to go outside for recess and then in the car when I told him to hurry up and buckle up he said "My body won't move because it's too cold"  So I'm thinking it's good soup weather.  I plan to make some tomorrow, tonight it's Picadillo.

So far I've read 3 books and I just went to the library and picked up a couple more.  My goal this month is to read at least 5 books.  So only two more to go.

I've started watching Roswell again.  I bought all three seasons last year, had a marathon of them and haven't watched them since.  I had never seen that show before and actually caught the first season on Hulu and got hooked and had to buy all 3 seasons.  So this time I'm taking my time and watching them.  Also still watching Psych and almost done with Season 1.  I'm watching it with Dan so if he doesn't feel like watching it we usually don't.

I started crocheting again.  X said he wants either a Dinosaur or a Dragon so I went to Ravelry and found a pattern for a Dragon.  I'll have to see what color yarn I have to make it with.  Also I am making myself a scarf with some yarn that I bought a while ago.  I buy yarn that's interesting and/or pretty and never do anything with it.  So I thought I should just make scarves.  I can wear a different one everyday.  Plus it's so easy just to make a scarf while you're watching TV.  I haven't done any scrapbooking for a while so I really should do that.  I have to look at pictures and figure out what to print.  January is almost over and I feel like I haven't accomplished too much.  I'll post pictures of my scarf when I'm done with it along with the pattern.

Returning Shows and New Shows

Now that Christmas is over most shows are returning to finish off their season, some have already returned.  Here are some shows I'm looking forward to (all times are central times):

V returned but I really gave up on that show so not watching it this season.  Also have given on up on Desperate Housewives.  A show I should have given up on a while ago.

Hawaii Five-0 on CBS returned Monday, January 3rd at 9PM.  This is a new show that I'm really enjoying.

No Ordinary Family on ABC returned on Tuesday, January 4th at 7PM.  It a pretty good show and my kids seem to like it.

Modern Family on ABC returned Wednesday, January 5th at 8PM.  Watched this show on and off last season and really started watching it this season.  The show is very funny and I laugh every time I watch it.

Grey's Anatomy on ABC returned on Thursday, January 6th at 8PM.

The Cape on NBC debuted on Sunday, January 9th at 8PM.  The first two episode were aired then and it was interesting.  I'll probably watch it again next week on it's regular night, Mondays at 8PM.

Off The Map on ABC aired last night and I watched about half of it and didn't care for it at all.

Chuck on NBC returns on Monday, January 17th at 7PM.  I love this show, I've been watching it since the first episode aired and haven't missed a single episode.

Being Human on SyFy debuts on Monday, January 17th at 8PM.  I am a big fan of the BBC version of this show and I'm not sure how I feel about an American re-make of it.  I might check it out if I have a chance.

Fringe on FOX is moving to Fridays, it returns on Friday, January 21st at 8PM.  I'm a big fan of this show and I am really liking this new season.  I'll be watching!

The Vampire Diaries on CW returns on Thursday, January 27th at 7PM.  I read the first four books by LJ Smith and started reading the 5th and gave up on it.  This is one TV adaptation that is better than the books.  I really enjoy what they've done with it.  So I'm definitely watching!

Supernatural on CW returns on Friday, January 28th at 8PM.  I LOVE the Wnchester boys and I'm so glad that last season was not the end.  I'm liking how there is a new monster every week and it's not too focused on a big plot like the last few seasons were.  This feels more like Season 1 when I fell in love with the show.

Glee on FOX returns Sunday, February 6th after the Super-bowl and then back to it's regular night Tuesdays at 7PM.  I caught up on this show this summer after hearing how great it was and it is a great show.

The Big Bang Theory was new last week (CBS Thursdays at 7PM) but not this week.  I heard it's been renewed for three more seasons.

Survivor:Redemption Island on CBS returns Wednesday, February 16th at 7PM.  This season has Boston Rob and Russell each taking a team and completing against each other.  Should be interesting to watch.

Shows to look forward too this summer are True Blood and Psych.

New Year, New Books

This is a series I've been reading since last year.  It's an adult series by Richelle Mead.  She is the author the Vampire Academy Series and this is the Georgina Kincaid Series.  This is from Richelle Mead's Website:

Vampire Academy Series

Two races of vampires walk our world. The Moroi are alive and wield elemental magical, while the Strigoi are undead and evil--feeding on the innocent to survive. Rose Hathaway--a half-vampire with poor impulse control--is training to be a bodyguard for a Moroi princess. Learning to decapitate and stake is hard enough, but Rose's real danger may lie in an illicit romance with one of her instructors...
This is Richelle's only young adult series. It's received honors from the American Library Association and been on the New York Times and USA Today Bestseller lists.

Georgina Kincaid Series
As if love wasn't hard enough! Imagine not being able to touch your boyfriend without sucking away his soul. Welcome to the world of Georgina Kincaid, a reluctant succubus who always seems to find herself in the middle of supernatural intrigue...
This adult urban fantasy series marked Richelle's debut as a published writer. NYT Bestselling author Jim Butcher had this to say about Succubus Blues: ""...an engaging read, with an unusually tangible, believable, living story world, featuring a protagonist of unexpected depth and sympathy."

The books are as following for the Georgina Kincaid Series:
Succubus Blues
Succubus on Top
Succubus Dreams
Succubus Heat
Succubus Shadows
Succubus Revealed (September 2011)
NO COVER YET

So far I have only finished the first three and I'm currently reading the fourth one, Succubus Heat.  They are really fast reads and really addicting.  I highly recommend them.

New Year 2011

Happy New Year!

It's hard to believe another year has passed.  My family and I had a great holiday.  My kids have way too many toys, they sure are lucky.  Dan had his birthday on the 28th and got more gifts (some wii games and tools).  I have to wait two months until my birthday.  I told Dan that I want pizza and an ice cream cake for my birthday.  I also have to start thinking about O's birthday, which is in March.  She will be turning 4 this year, which is so hard to believe.  I'll have to see what she wants for her party.  Last year it was Strawberry Shortcake and that included decorations, strawberry cupcakes and plates.  I'm sure she'll want Princess or Barbies or even Spider-Man.  For some reason she LOVES Spider-Man, which when you think about it, what is there not to love.

With the new year I have been thinking of some resolutions:
1.  Exercise more -  I do exercise already but I'm thinking I need to do it longer
2.  Read more books - In 2009 I read 66 books and in 2010 I read less, 61 books.  So I am thinking my goal should be 70 books this year.
3.  Be more patient with the kids - I tend to loose my patience when they don't listen and raise my voice.  So I will stay calm.

That's all I have for now.  I think three is a good start.  :)
