Book in a Series - Fallen Angels

Don't you hate it when you are reading a book and it's part of a book series and you have to wait FOREVER for the next book to come out.  Then you get the next book and you can't remember where it left off?  Well I'm going to summarize a book in a series that I've read so that when I get the next book I can look at my summary and know what happened.  Warning, the following contains spoilers!

Fallen Angels
Crave - J.R. Ward
Crave (The Fallen Angels, #2)
Envy - 09/06/11

In Covet, Jim Heron a former XOps Soldier, was sent on a mission.  Save seven souls and keep humanity safe otherwise the world basically ends.  In the first book he was able to save the soul and therefore won.

In this one he is set to save Issac Rothe, also a former XOps Soldier.  Their former boss Mathias is out to kill him since no one quits the XOps team.  Issac is arrested and a lawyer, Grier Childe is sent to help him.  They end up falling for eachother and Jim helps them.  But turns out the soul that he was supposed to save was not Issac but Mathias.  In the end he realizes it and is unable to save him.  Therefore he loses this one.

End of summer

I cannot believe it but summer is almost over.  I've already finished my back to school shopping for X.  He goes back to school on August 31st and he'll be in second grade.  We have an open house for his school on the 29th. We are going out of town for one night next Thursday.  My dad will be taking Apollo overnight.  Hopefully everything goes well with him.  Then the week after that Dan has a work retreat and families are invited and so me and the kids are going along and Apollo will be going to my dad's again.  Also looks like Fall TV will be starting soon.  I'm still watching True Blood since it's a summer show.  Psych doesn't come back until October.  I'm re-watching Supernatural.  Starting with Season 1.  I still have not bought Season 6 yet.  But here's what I have so far for Fall TV:

Sundays:
The Amazing Race, CBS (09/25) - Watched this show on and off previous seasons and got into it again last season and didn't miss any episodes.  So I plan to watch it this season from the beginning.
Once Upon a Time, ABC (10/23) - New show that looks interesting.  It's fairy tales set in present day.

Mondays:
Hawaii Five-0, CBS (09/19) - Watched this show last season and really liked it.  We left off with Steve being wrongfully accused of killing the Governor.  Dan-O was going to move back to the states with his ex-wife and daughter.  Chin Ho went back to being a regular cop & his cousin Kono was being arrested for when they stole that money from evidence lock-up.

Tuesdays:
Glee, FOX (09/20) - I really like this show during the first season and last season I did not like as well.  I'll probably give it another chance but now sure if I'll watch it.
Ringer, CW (09/13) - Sarah Michelle Gellar plays twins.  One is on the run and the other disappears.  So she takes over her sister's life.

Wednesdays:
Survivor:South Pacific, CBS (09/14) - I've watched this show on and off since it started and starting watching it a few years ago and really like it.
Modern Family, ABC (09/21) - This show makes me laugh every time I watch it.

Thursdays:
The Vampire Diaries, CW (09/15) -  I've said it before but I'll say it again.  This show is better than the books.  I've been watching it from the beginning.
The Big Bang Theory, CBS (09/22) - I watched this show on and off.  Then a couple of years ago I decided to just watch from season 1 and get caught up.  Now it's a show I never miss.  I love Sheldon Cooper and Amy was a great addition to the show.
The Secret Circle, CW (09/15) - This is based on books written by L.J. Smith (who also wrote The Vampire Diaries books).  If this show is as good as The Vampire Diaries I'll be happy.  I just recently read the books and thought they were good.  This is about witches, a girl named Cassie moves to New Salem and joins a group of witches.
Grey's Anatomy, ABC (09/22) - I've been watching this show since the beginning.  I didn't like last season as much as I have other seasons.  I just hate to give up on a show.

Fridays:
Chuck, NBC (10/21) - I really thought they had cancelled it after last season but I guess this will be the last season.  Not sure what will happen, I was not happy with the ending of last season.
Fringe, FOX (09/23) - Been watching this show since the beginning.  I really like this show and I'm very curious to see where this season will go.  I really like Joshua Jackson and hope he's not gone for good.
Supernatural, CW (09/23) -  I love this show and it was supposed to get cancelled after Season 5 but got renewed.  Then Season 6 was supposed to be the last season and now we're getting Season 7.  I'm very happy about that.
Grimm, NBC (10/21) - This is about a detective that finds out he's a descendant of a group of hunters knows as "Grimms" who fight supernatural creatures to keep humanity safe.

So that is a lot of TV and I won't be watching all of it while it airs.  I'll watch some online and some record.

Book in a Series - Fallen Series

The Fallen Series
Passion - Lauren Kate
Passion (Fallen, #3)
Rapture - Spring 2012

Luce jumped into an announcer in the end of the last book and in this book we get to see where it takes her.  She wants to learn about her past selves to understand things better and break the curse.  She jumps into past lives, sometimes pretending to be past self and sometimes just hiding and observing.  While skipping in time she meets Bill.  He is a little gargoyle that helps her learn how to leap in time and how to cleave to her past selves.  By cleaving she is able to be in the body of her past self and know all that she knows.  She learns that the curse is hard on Daniel, causing him physical pain every time she dies.  Through all this Daniel is also trying to find her and he ends up cleaving himself too.  We also see when the angels fell.  It was when Lucifer fell and each was asked whose side they would take.  Daniel said neither and chose love and that's where the curse originated.  Bill turns out to be Lucifer and he is planning to change time.  He goes back to the time when the Fall happens, which takes place over several days.  In the end Luce and Daniel find each other and she tells him about Lucifer.

Book in a Series - The Iron Witch Series

Don't you hate it when you are reading a book and it's part of a book series and you have to wait FOREVER for the next book to come out.  Then you get the next book and you can't remember where it left off?  Well I'm going to summarize a book in a series that I've read so that when I get the next book I can look at my summary and know what happened.  Warning, the following contains spoilers!

The Iron Witch Series
The Iron Witch - Karen Mahoney
The Iron Witch (The Iron Witch, #1)
The Wood Queen - 02/2012

This book was suggested by author Richelle Mead on her website and so I thought I'd give it a try and I'm glad I did.  I really liked it.

Donna Underwood is the child of Alchemists.  When she was 7 years old her father was killed and she was injured.  To fix her injuries she was given iron tattoos on her hands and arms since that was the only way to help her.  She has great strength because of them and she wears gloves to cover up the tattoos.  She has a human friend named Navin, and he gets kidnapped by some wood elves.  She also meets a half-fey named Xan.  He was kidnapped by the Wood Elves when he was younger and his wings were ripped out and now he has scars.  With the help of Xan she goes to get Navin back.  They get into the Wood Elf realms since Xan knows how to go there and the Wood Queen says if they want Navin back they need to find the Elixir of Life and bring it to her.  She steals it from the estate of someone high up in the Order of the Dragon (society of Alchemists).  They save Navin and her tutor, Maker and she gets in trouble and has to have a trial to decide her punishment.

Book in a Series - Inheritance Cycle

Don't you hate it when you are reading a book and it's part of a book series and you have to wait FOREVER for the next book to come out.  Then you get the next book and you can't remember where it left off?  Well I'm going to summarize a book in a series that I've read so that when I get the next book I can look at my summary and know what happened.  Warning, the following contains spoilers!

Inheritance Cycle
Brisingr - Christopher Paolini
Cover is a profile of a golden dragon's head and neck.
Inheritance - 11/08/11

The book begins with Eragon, Saphira and Roran rescuing Katrina.  They go back to the Varden and we find out Katrina is pregnant with Roran's baby and they get married.  During the ceremony they get attacked and Murtagh and his dragon, Thorn come.  They end up fleeing.

Eragon has to attend a Dwarf King election.  A clan tries to assassinate Eragon but Orik exiles them and then he is elected King.

They then return to Ellesmera to finish training with Oromis and his dragon, Glaedr.  There he finds out that Brom is his real father.  He also finds out that the source of Galbatorix's power is the Eldunarya (heart of hearts).  The holder is able to communicate with or draw energy from the dragon it belongs to even if the dragon is dead.  Eragon also gets a new sword, which he names Brisingr.  Before they depart again Glaedr gives them his Eldunari.

Roran is fighting with the military and he is sent to target a convoy of supply wagons.  Roran takes command and brings a victory to the Varden.  Despite what he did he is charged with insubordination and is flogged as a punishment.  Then Nasuada promotes him to Commander.

During another battle, Eragon and Arya find some magicians trying to create a Shade.  While he is trying to kill the magicians he gets a vision through Glaedr's Eldunari that shows Oromis and Murtagh fighting.  Then he sees Murtagh getting possessed by Galbatorix and he kills Oromis and Glaedr.  The magicians still are able to create a shade but Arya and Eragon manage to kill it.  After the fighting stops, Nasuada tells Eragon that the Varden is planning to invade the Empire.
