We read City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau
The city of Ember was
built as a last refuge for the human race. Two hundred years later, the
great lamps that light the city are beginning to flicker. When Lina
finds part of an ancient message, she’s sure it holds a secret that will
save the city. She and her friend Doon must decipher the message before
the lights go out on Ember forever! This stunning debut novel offers
refreshingly clear writing and fascinating, original characters.
I thought it was a great book and I want to read the next book in the series to see what happens to Lina and Doon. It was a really fast read since it was not very long and a teen book. So a great book between books as I call them. I enjoyed the characters and was really curious as to how they survived for 200 years in this city. I love all the clues that were followed and loved guessing along with them.
