Book in a Series - Lorien Legacies

Don't you hate it when you are reading a book and it's part of a book series and you have to wait FOREVER for the next book to come out.  Then you get the next book and you can't remember where it left off?  Well I'm going to summarize a book in a series that I've read so that when I get the next book I can look at my summary and know what happened.  Warning, the following contains spoilers!

I Am Number Four - Pittacus Lore

 The Power of Six - 08/23/11

The book follows a boy named John Smith that just moved to Paradise, Ohio.  He is from the planet Lorien and has a guardian named Henri.  John along with 8 other teenagers make up the Garde (have special abilities called legacies).  Their guardians are called Cepan.  They had to leave their planet when another race of aliens called the Mogadoriens invaded and destroyed their planet.  The Garde are protected by a charm.  They don't know where each other is and each are a number.  The charm only lets them be killed in order and every time one of the dies they get a circular mark on their ankle.  John Smith is number four and three others have already been killed.  Him and Henri move around a lot and change their names.

While in Paradise he attends high school and meets Sarah Hart and her ex-boyfriend Mark James.  He stands up to Mark and that's the first time he's done that since he's supposed to just blend in and not draw attention to himself.  While at school he develops his first legacy and leaves school early.  All Garde possess Telekineses and then develop a unique legacy.  John's first legacy is Lumen, which allows him to produce light and be resistant to fire and heat.  Henri begins to train him and he learns more about Lorien and the Mogadoriens.  

John makes a friend in Sam Goode, a nerdy kid that believes in aliens.  An incident occurs at Halloween which makes Sam question John and he convinces him he's not an alien.  Him and Sarah start a relationship.  At Thanksgiving John is worried about Henri and finds out he went after a magazine that published an article on Mogadoriens and he gets Sam's help.  They find Henri and save him but he wants them to leave.

At a party there's a fire and he saves Sarah and shows his abilities.  There is a fight at the school since the Mogadoriens find him and he also meets up with number Six.  So the charm is broken.  He develops his other legacy, which is talking to animals.  Henri dies in the fight.

 At the end John, Six, Sam & Bernie Kosar (his dog from Lorien) leave Paradise and leave behind Mark & Sarah.  They are going to search for the other Garde so they can defeat the Mogadoriens.
