So at the end of last season, Castiel became the new God and
he asked Dean, Bobby & Sam to kneel down to him or die. And that is where things were left and that
is where things start up in the new season.
So Dean, Sam & Bobby bow down to him but he stops them
because he knows they don’t mean it. So
he tells them if they strike up against him then he will kill them. So of course, what do they do but try to
figure out how to get rid of the new God.
Meanwhile, Sam is dealing with the aftermath of the wall coming down. He has hallucinations of the things that
went on in hell.
Castiel is the new and improved God decides he will punish
wrong doers. He kills those that oppose
him, including other angels. He goes to
a church and kills the preacher, he massacres a whole office full of people and
he heals a blind homeless person because he truly believes. He is also falling apart, getting burns on
his skin.
Dean, Sam & Bobby figure out if they can bind Death then
he can get rid of Castiel. They do this
by summoning Crowley, whom Castiel has tried to bargain with and so Crowley is
not too crazy about the new Cass.
Crowley comes through with a spell to summon and bind Death. So that’s exactly what they do. But Death of course is not happy. Castiel comes and Death tells him that his
vessel is falling apart and that he took in souls older than angels that were
in Purgatory for a reason. Those souls
would be the Leviathans and that god put them there for a reason. Castiel leaves after unbinding Death. He then eats a meal (because that’s what
Death loves to do) and tells Sam, Dean and Bobby that they need to convince
Castiel to expel the souls back into Purgatory and he has set up a time for
them to do that and they just need to bring Castiel there.
The convince Castiel to do this after he massacres all those
people and he realizes he needs help.
So they open up the door, he expels the souls and all is fine and dandy
and old Castiel is back. Meanwhile Sam
is retrieving a jar of blood for the ritual and is visited by Lucifer. He tells him that he never left the cage and
this is just torture by letting him believe he’s free. Dean finds the blood on the ground and Sam
is nowhere to be seen but he has to do the ritual. So old Castiel is back but not for long because the Leviathans held
on and he can’t hold them back. They
take over and now Castiel is the Leviathans and we have a new villain.
