Book Review: Generation One - Pittacus Lore

32497565
It has been over a year since the invasion of Earth was thwarted in Pittacus Lore's United as One.  But in order to win, our allies known as the Garde unleashed their Loric energy that spread throughout the globe.  Now human teenagers have begun to develop incredible powers of their own, known as Legacies.

To help these incredible and potentially dangerous individuals--and put the world at ease--the Garde have created an academy where they can train this new generation to control their powers and hopefully one day help mankind.  But not everyone thinks that's the best use of their talents.  And the teens may need to use their Legacies sooner than they ever imagined.

3/5 stars (liked it)
I don't like this quite as much as the original series with the Garde.  I wish more of the Garde were in this book.  Although we meet some of the Humans that developed Legacies that were introduced in the last book.  I really like Nigel and Ran.  Each of the humans have a story and we find out more about them.  There's of course a new bad guy.

Book Review: United as One - Pittacus Lore

United as One (Lorien Legacies, #7)
The seventh and final book in the #1 New York Times bestselling I Am Number Four Series!  With United as One, this action-packed series comes to a surprising, breathtaking, and utterly satisfying conclusion.  The Garde didn't start this war, but they'll do whatever it takes to end it once and for all...

The Mogadorians have invaded Earth.  Their warships loom over our most populated cities, and no country will risk taking them head on.  The Garde are all that stand in the way, but they'll need an army of their own to win this fight.

They've teamed up with the US Military, but it might not be enough.  The Garde need reinforcements, and they've found them in the most unexpected place.  Teenagers from across the glove, like John Smith's best friend, Sam, have developed abilities.  So John and the others must get to them before the Mogs, because if they don't their enemies will use these gifted teens for their own sinister plan.

But after all the Mogadorians have taken from John--his home, his family, his friends, and the person he loves most--he might not want to put any more lives in danger.  He's got nothing left to lose, and he's just discovered he has been given an incredible new Legacy.  Now he can turn himself into the ultimate weapon.  So will he risk his life to save the world, or will he realize that power in numbers will save us all?

3/5 stars (liked it)
As much as I like this series, I was ready for it to end and for the Garde to finally defeat the Mogadorians and Setrakus Ra.  John and the others have been through so much and have lost so many loved ones.  John especially is in a dark place in this book where he will do anything to defeat the enemy, which includes him dying.  I love the relationship that developed between Six and Sam.  I wish there was more Danielle in this book as I was really starting to like her and we didn't get too much of her.  Nine is great and love what happens to him at the very end.  I thought it was a great wrap up to the series.

Book Review: The Fate of Ten - Pittacus Lore

The Fate of Ten (I am Number Four #6)
The sixth book in the thrilling, action-packed, New York Times bestselling I Am Number Four series!  For years the Garde have fought the Mogadorians in secret.  Now all of that has changed.  The invasion has begun.  If the Garde can't find a way to stop the Mogs, humanity will suffer the same fate as the Lorien:  annihilation.

There is still hope.  When the Elders sent the Garde to Earth, they had a plan--one which the Garde are finally starting to understand.  In the climax of The Revenge of Seven, a group of the Garde traveled to an ancient pyramid in Mexico known to their people as the Sanctuary.  There they awoke a power that had been hidden within our planet for generations.  Now this poer can save the world...or destroy it.  It will all depend on who wields it.

4/5 stars (really liked it)
Not enough of Nine and not enough of Lexa!  Other than that this book was great.  I love how we see John a little more vulnerable.  Also meet new characters such as Daniella.  I love that Adam is so accepted by the Lorien and that he helps out so much.  I like that we saw a little of Setrakus Ra's past and how he came to be the bad person he is.  I can't wait to read the next one because the ending of this book left me screaming "NO!".

Book Review: I Am Number Four: The Lost Files: Rebel Allies - Pittacus Lore

I Am Number Four: The Lost Files: Rebel Allies (Lorien Legacies: The Lost Files, #10-12)
I Am Number Four:  The Lost Files:  Rebel Allies is a collection of three thrilling stories by Pittacus Lore.  Originally published as the e-novellas The Fugitive, The Navigator, and The Guard, now, for the first time ever, they are together in one print volume.

The Fugitive follows Mark James as he tries to track down Sarah Hart, evade the Mogadorians and the FBI, and discover the identity of the mysterious blogger he knows only as GUARD.

The Navigator reveals the truth about the crew of the two Loric spaceships who escaped to Earth and shows what happened to the pilots after they arrived and parted ways with the Garde.

The Guard tells the story of the hacker who has been aiding the Lorien survivors from the shadows for years.  She's determined to defeat the Mogs--and she just found her secret weapon.

You know the truth about the Mogadorians' invasion of Earth and the Garde who will do anything to defeat them--yet there is still so much to learn.  The stories in Rebel Allies will help you get the answers you seek, but they will not help you stop the coming war.  Only the Garde can save our planet.  But they are not alone...

4/5 stars (really liked it)
I love how these short stories give us a back story on characters we don't get to know in the books.  I also like getting a glimpse of what life was like in Lorien before the Mogadorians destroyed Lorien.  I feel like this book made me understand things a little better for the next book in the series.

Book Review: The Revenge of Seven - Pittacus Lore

The Revenge of Seven (Lorien Legacies, #5)
The worst was supposed to be over.  We were reunited after a decade apart.  We were discovering the truth of our past.  We were training and getting stronger every day.  We were even happy...

We never imagined the Mogadorians could turn one of our own against us.  We were fools for trusting Five.  And now Eight is lost forever.  I would do anything to bring him back, but that's impossible.  Instead I will do whatever it takes to destroy every last one of them.

I've spent my entire life hiding from them, and they've stolen everything away from me.  But that stops now.  We're going to take the battle to them.  We have a new ally who knows their weaknesses.  And I finally have the power to fight back.

They caught Number One in Malaysia.

Number Two in England.

Number Three in Kenya.

And Number Eight in Florida.

They killed them all.

 I am Number Seven.

I will make them pay.

4/5 stars (really liked it)
This book was told from the point of view of Six, John Smith and Ella.  I really liked that they were all fighting the Mogadorians.  I especially like that Adam (the good Mogadorian) has become such a large part of the Loriens.  Also fighting along side them is humans like Sarah, Sam and Mark.  There were so many things going on with all the characters.  I also learned to hate Setrakus Ra even more.  Although we do learn a little background on who he really is.  And also there was a lack of BK in this book, I missed the little guy.  I can't wait to read the next book.

Book Review: I Am Number Four: The Lost Files - Hidden Enemy - Pittacus Lore

I Am Number Four: The Lost Files: Hidden Enemy (Lorien Legacies: The Lost Files, #7-9)
Five's Legacy tells the story of Five's early years on Earth when he was just a young teen on the run, discovering his abilities and making the wrong kind of friends.

Return to Paradise picks up in the aftermath of the Mog attack on Ohio and follows Mark James as he struggles between returning to a normal life and helping John Smith and the others.

Five's Betrayal is the exhilarating continuation of Five's story, in which he joins the Mogadorian ranks and must demonstrate his allegiance to them by helping destroy the other Lorien survivors.

You know the truth about the Mogadorians' invasion of Earth and the Garde who will do anything to defeat them--yet there is still so much to learn.  The stories in Hidden Enemy will help you get the answers you seek, but they will not help you stop the coming war.  Only the Garde can save our planet.

3/5 stars (liked it)
It was nice to see why Five betrayed the Lorien.  In the two short stories we see what it was like for him to grow up and what happened to him after his Cepan died.  Also we see how the Mogadorian's got to him and were able to convince him to betray the Lorien.  I also really liked to see what life in Paradise was like after what happened at the school with Four (John) and how the FBI found out that he was back in Paradise.  This is all told from the point of view of Mark James.  It was nice to see a new perspective on things.

Book Review: The Fall of Five – Pittacus Lore

The Fall of Five (Lorien Legacies, #4)
I thought things would change when I found the others.  We would stop running.  We would fight the Mogadorians.  And we would win.

But I was wrong.  Even though we have come together, we barely escaped from the Mogadorians with our lives.  And now we’re in hiding, trying to figure out our next move.

The six of us are powerful—but we’re not yet strong enough to take on their entire army.  We haven’t discovered the full extent of our Legacies.  We haven’t learned to work together.  And there’s still so much that we don’t know about the Elders or their plan for us.  Time is running out, and there’s only one thing we know for certain:  We need to find Number Five before they do.

The caught Number One in Malaysia.
Number Two in England.
And Number Three in Kenya.
I am Number Four.  I was supposed to be next.
But I’m still alive.

This battle is far from over.

4/5 stars (really liked it)
The book is told from three different point of views; John Smith (aka Number Four), Marina (Number Seven, the one that was in Spain) & Sam Goode (the human from Paradise).  I actually really liked all three points of views as they were not all always together so it was a good way to find out what was going on with everyone.  I had read The Lost Files #4-6 and I’m glad I had read it ahead of time.  In that book we met Adam, a Mogadorian working for the Garde and he ended up freeing Malcolm and Sam Goode.  Although he is mostly absent in the book I was hoping he would meet up with the Garde and work with them.  Nine is as cocky as ever but I love that guy.  Sarah has stepped it up and is training so she can be some help.  Ella is having nightmares/visions of a horrible future.  I think this is by far my favorite book in the series.

Book Review: I Am Number Four: The Lost Files – Secret Histories – Pittacus Lore

Secret Histories (Lorien Legacies: The Lost Files, #4-6)
I Am Number Four: The Lost Files: Secret Histories is a collection of three action-packed novellas that share stories the Mogadorians don’t want you to know about the inner working of their regime as well as how they engineered the attack on Lorien.  Originally published as e-novellas, now, for the first time ever, they are together in one print volume.

You already know the truth about the Garde and the Mogadorian invasion, yet there is still so much to learn.  The stories in Secret Histories will help you get the answers you seek, but they will not help you stop the coming war.  Only the Garde can save our planet.

4/5 stars (really liked it)
The first novella follows Adam (a Mogadorian) and One, a continuation from the Lost Files #3.  This picks up right where that left off with Adam in the ravine.  You see how One has changed his way of thinking and has put him on the Garde’s side.  The second story follows a young Sandor in Lorien and the last days.  It shows what life was like on Lorien and how the Mogarodians attacked the planet and how the Garde children were able to escape.  The last story continues where the first one ends, again with Adam and how he really kicks some Mogadorian butt and helps out the Garde.  This book got me very excited to The Fall of Five.

Book Review: Overbite - Meg Cabot

Overbite - Meg Cabot Meena Harper has a special gift, but i's only now that anyone's ever appreciated it.  The Palatine Guard--...
